
The Supreme Court stayed the Chhattisgarh High Court's April 2026 conviction of Amit Jogi in a 2003 murder case involving political rival Ram Avtar Jaggi. A bench issued notice on his appeal, suspending the life imprisonment sentence. The high court had overturned a 2007 trial court acquittal, convicting him under IPC Sections 302 and 120-B with life imprisonment and Rs 1,000 fine.
