What Happened
Punjab government opened an admission portal for economically weaker section (EWS) students to enroll in private schools under the Right to Education Act, 2009. Applications close April 25. Private schools must reserve 25% seats—12.5% for EWS and 12.5% for disadvantaged groups—from the 2026-27 session. Selection will occur through online lottery draw.
