Ransomware negotiator pleads guilty to helping ransomware gang

What Happened

Angelo Martino, a former ransomware negotiator at DigitalMint, pleaded guilty to assisting the ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware gang. Working both sides of negotiations, Martino fed victims' confidential information and insurance details to cybercriminals while taking a cut of extorted payments. He is the third negotiator arrested for this scheme in one year.
