
Gurjeet Singh Khalsa, a 43-year-old farmer from Punjab, will descend from a 400-foot BSNL tower on Friday, April 24, ending his 560-day protest demanding stricter sacrilege laws. The Punjab Assembly passed the sacrilege bill on April 13, receiving gubernatorial assent on April 17. Khalsa climbed the tower on October 12, 2024, joining the Dharam Yudhh Morcha's ongoing protest demanding enhanced legal protections against religious desecration.
