What Happened
Telangana's parliamentary constituencies will increase from 17 to 26 following the Centre's delimitation exercise, Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed. The state's 3.50 crore population entitles it to 179 Assembly seats with complete boundary reorganisation. SC-reserved constituencies rise to four and ST-reserved constituencies to two, each Lok Sabha seat comprising seven Assembly segments.
