What Happened

A 31-year-old man opened fire in northwestern Louisiana Sunday, killing seven of his children and a cousin in Shreveport. Eight victims ranged from one to fourteen years old. Two women were critically injured. The suspect, identified as Shamar Elkins, fled and led police on a chase. This is the deadliest US mass shooting in over two years.
