Google Cloud launches two new AI chips to compete with Nvidia

What Happened

Google Cloud unveiled its eighth-generation custom AI chips—TPU 8t for model training and TPU 8i for inference. The chips offer three times faster training, 80% better performance per dollar, and support for 1 million+ TPUs in single clusters. However, Google still supplements offerings with Nvidia systems and promises Vera Rubin availability this year.
