What Happened
A 23-year-old Dalit groom was dragged off his horse and beaten by local men during his pre-wedding procession in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The attackers allegedly objected to the customary Rachwai ritual, blocking the route and assaulting the groom and family members with sticks. Gold jewellery was reportedly stolen during the attack.
