What Happened

The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's intervention during an ED raid at I-PAC premises in January cannot constitute a Centre-State dispute. A two-judge bench rejected arguments by the state government represented by senior advocate Menaka Guruswamy. The ED had filed a petition seeking CBI investigation against the Chief Minister and accompanying officials.
