What Happened
An explosion at Vanaja Fireworks Industry in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu killed at least 25 people Sunday evening. The factory was closed but approximately 50 workers were present. A second blast occurred during rescue operations, injuring 13 additional people. The cause remains under investigation. Factory owner and foreman are absconding. Most victims identified were women.
