Maharashtra's school education department has revived Divisional Fee Regulatory Committees for Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar divisions. The government gazette notification issued March 18 establishes panels chaired by retired district judges. These committees will address parent complaints about unreasonable school fee increases under the 2011 Maharashtra Educational Institutions Act. A reconstituted Revision Committee will serve as appellate authority. Currently, complaints require 25 percent of parents' approval.
